Here is a list of my personal beliefs
Sacred text Bible alone
Bible is inerrant
Sources of doctrine all subject to the Bible
Trinity, God is one and three distinct persons, The Father The Word and the Holy Spirit
The nature of Jesus, The Word became man, and was both forever.
Jesus was resurrected
The Holy Spirit is everywhere; it does the work of God oftentimes unseen
Angels exist, their primary mission is to inform the world of God's Word, as is evident by the word which forms their name means messenger in both Greek and Hebrew.
Satan A fallen angel, a real personality and also symbolic of the evil in man. God uses the literal Satan to test people.
Demons fallen angels God uses to test men.
Mary: Virgin, sinner, redeemed by the one she bore
Human nature sinful despite being created in the image of God.
Original Sin we will not die form Adam's sin, but from our own, which we will do in no short order
Free will If man can chose, but those choices are determined by psychology and his physical surroundings, then even if he has free will, all he will ever do is predestined. Each man has chosen to sin and God has chosen who to save. This is an extension of the meaning of Grace; it is totally God's work.
Atonement Jesus paid the price for our sin, he was sent by the Father and lost not one Means of salvation it is all God's work, we have nothing to do with it.
Grace salvation is a gift not earned by any work, prayer, or ritual
Predestination God has predestine those who would believe, sinner sin buy there own choice, this was predetermined but that doesn't mean it wasn't their choice.
Good works a glory to God and a benefit to the person and his fellow
End times Jesus will return to usher in the kingdom of heaven, and judge the sinners Heaven God's elect will be resurrected in spiritual bodies to enjoy God forever Hell a temporal place of absolute destruction of the wicked in some manner that is exactly just for their sins, the worst of judgments is separation from God
Purgatory no, no, no
Church there is the physical church consisting of some believers and non believers and the invisible church. Both are going through a period of judgment in which people are deceived
Other denominations anyone can be saved through faith in the Word
Other religions Jews can be saved through faith in the Word, there is one verse that says that a person who does the Law but knows not the Law is a Law unto themselves, this might opens the possibility that people who are not Christians or Jews could be saved, but it is in the providence of God. The best life system is obedience to God's word, and that is the preferred theology.
Unclean foods, I believe that Jesus' overall position was one that did not change the OT Law, but changed the priority of any ceremonial law to not being as important as moral Law. All animals described be the Bible as unclean are scavengers, and contain toxins. Jesus said he did not come to change the Law but fulfill it. Peter didn't eat unclean meat after Jesus said that unclean food came out of a man, if he understood Jesus as meaning he could eat pork, wouldn't he have eaten a ham sandwich?
Evolution and old Earth These are two separate issues. I don't think its possible for us to know how long the earth has been around, but there are four possibilities.
3. ? Each day is an indefinite period of time symbolized by the thousand-year statement. A thousand is symbolic of completeness; also literally in Hebrew it also means clan.
Evolution.
People have made a big deal about the word theory in scientific theory, but there is no real problem with that word, it is the scientific part. Part of the reasoning in science is that it cannot account for supernatural events, this was obviously a great leap forward in modern thinking, but it also made people look at certain things in a rather irrational way. Some critical thinkers have said that the miracles in the Bible could not be, and must have been added later, this is from the same thinking. If there is a God then he can perform miraculous events, miracles could be true in the Bible and true in creation. So then the real question is, is there a God?
So using the scientific method produces a result that precludes God from the equation. Therefore you cannot scientifically prove or disprove evolution or creation. What scientists are saying is that if you assume that nothing supernatural can happen, then how else but evolution could there be life on Earth.
Evolution is problematic; it requires hundreds of millions of mythological creatures with no evidence of their existence. There is no recorded history of any creature evolving to another. There is evidence of mutations, or a varying of a particular gene, but keep in mind that when you look at the differences of even the closest "relatives" that you have at least a hundred differences. Each is at least one gene, if not more. Think about this more in detail, there are pictures that incorporate our imaginations to a line of creatures that seem to be headed in the direction of man, but each has a different nose, different ears, and you can go through and list all of the differences. There are many creatures that have to have multiple things happen at the same time, especially ones with venom, that couldn't happen one at a time, but multiple things at a time. The odds that one mutation could be useful have been estimated at one in ten billion, two at the same time would be that squared, or 100,000,000,000,000,000,000. You can easily see that four or five are just plain impossible. Also consider the many species that have mating rituals; this requires two mutations to happen at the same time to two distinct individuals. If evolution changed animals slowly over time, then most animals would be like dogs. There are big dogs, small dogs, fat and thin dogs of every imaginable color and temperament, the highly specialized creatures which inspired Darwin's book are the exact opposite of what you would expect to find.
Could God use genetics to change animals? Adam was crated from the dust of the ground, I have heard that the dust inside was mostly from skin. Is this the reason God used the word dust instead of dirt? Also Adam's rib would have his genes, is this what God made Eve from? I don't know, but it's an interesting idea.
